Cornwall, Ontario (Aug 14, 2026) – United Way Centraide SDG (UWC SDG) Board of Directors announced today that Executive Director, Juliette Labossière, will be stepping down after six years serving as the organization’s top administrator, effective September 4, 2026.
Her passion and dedication to the community have transformed the role of United Way in Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry, Cornwall and Akwesasne (SDGCA) over the past six years, evolving it from a fundraiser into a community impact organization that brings partners together, shares knowledge and drives innovation in how local nonprofits and governments respond to community needs.
Under Juliette’s leadership, UWC SDG strengthened its role as a community convener, ensuring donor investments were making a meaningful impact to reduce the strain of poverty. She co-led the establishment of the Regional Emergency Strategic Response Council, which invested more than $900,000 in local programs and services in response to the pandemic and cost-of-living crisis. She also worked alongside leaders from six local organizations to establish the IDEA Coalition, bringing 40+ organizations together to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-oppression.
Juliette also expanded the role of the United Way to address gaps of service with the creation of the UWC SDG Last Resort Fund in 2021, which has invested more than $1 million over five years to support more than 1,000 households across SDGCA with significant expenses that could otherwise have left them without housing. She also partnered with the City of Cornwall in 2023 to develop and co-lead the launch of the Stepping Stones Project, a transitional housing initiative providing private, furnished rooms for community members experiencing homelessness, further strengthening the United Way’s role as a critical voice and resource for local housing solutions.

UWC SDG Board of Directors are actively recruiting for the organization’s next Executive Director. Applications will be accepted until September 4, 2026.
