It can throw many curve balls

A sudden job loss. End of a relationship. An unexpected illness. Loss of a family member. Increase in cost of living. Or even a global pandemic.

These moments of transition are when we’re our most vulnerable to being trapped by the complex web of poverty.

Help break this cycle.

Join us as we build a community where everyone has food on the table, an affordable place to call home, and a sufficient and reliable income. A place where we stand united.

Whether this is your first time planning a workplace campaign or a role that you have done for years, this toolkit includes tools to run a United Way workplace fundraising campaign—whether your employees are working remotely or in the office.

Thank you for supporting your workplace charitable giving campaign.   This important work would not be possible without the hundreds of volunteers who step up each and every day to support and advocate. On behalf of our entire community, thank you for your efforts.

Check back frequently, as more assets will be added throughout the Campaign!

Video: An Honest Conversation About Poverty

This summer, we started an honest conversation about poverty in our region by launching a video featuring three local individuals with lived experience.

We explored the complexity of this issue through three different perspectives — “Jane”, Nick and Amanda. A single mom who has suddenly had to raise her kids on an unstable single income due to unforeseen circumstances. A young man who fell into addiction and fought to get his life back on track. And a young woman who struggled for years to get the help she needed, and once she did, was able to thrive in a way she never knew was possible.

Videos: Partner Agency Spotlights

For more than 80 years, the United Way Centraide SDG has been at the forefront of poverty reduction in SDGC&A by investing in a wide range of local programs to tackle poverty on several fronts: youth mentorship, counselling, food security, essential skills training, mental health awareness, sexual assault support, and specialized services. We ensure that every dollar donated fills gaps in care and are addressing the most pressing needs in our communities.

Learn more about six of our partner agencies who we have been supporting for the past few years talk about the life-changing work they are doing in the community and how the generous donors like you make an impact locally.
