Chantal Gilmour is a dedicated small business owner and the creative force behind Crazy Knitter’s Creations, a Canadian brand specializing in handcrafted knitwear and eco-friendly home goods. Combining traditional craftsmanship with a modern approach to sustainable living, Chantal is committed to producing high-quality, practical, and thoughtfully designed pieces. Beyond her business, she is a co-founder of Warm Up Cornwall, an initiative that provides handmade items to those in need, reflecting her passion for using creativity to bring comfort and care to others. Her work embodies the values of quality, compassion, and mindful entrepreneurship. She is in her third year(second term as vice-chair) of the United Way Centraide SDGCA board of directors.

I have always sought ways to help my community, and the United Way was another significant stepping stone in making my community a better place to live.

United Way is an organization that funds social services and helps vulnerable populations. A board role allows one to help shape how funds are allocated and what priorities are addressed locally.
By joining the board, I can leverage my leadership skills, business, and volunteer experiences to make a greater impact in my region.
It aligns with my values of compassion, sustainability, and supporting people in need.

I bring creativity, compassion, and community spirit to the United Way Board of Directors. As the owner of Crazy Knitter’s Creations and co-founder of Warm Up Cornwall, I blend my love of handmade craftsmanship with a passion for helping others. Through my experience on United Way’s allocation committee, I have gained a deep understanding of how local programs create lasting impact. Having overcome personal challenges, I approach my work with empathy, resilience, and a strong belief in the power of community to make a difference.

I am deeply passionate about addressing homelessness in Cornwall, Ontario. I believe that everyone deserves a safe and stable place to call home, and I am committed to supporting initiatives that provide both immediate relief and long-term solutions. Through my involvement with Warm Up Cornwall and the United Way, I have seen firsthand how collaboration, compassion, and community action can change lives. She advocates for programs that not only meet basic needs but also help individuals regain dignity, confidence, and connection within the community.
