Cornwall, Ontario (Dec 1, 2025) – United Way Centraide of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SDG) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephanie Lapointe as Interim Executive Director, effective December 1. This transition follows the thoughtful leadership of Ray Houde, who completed his contract with United Way after guiding the organization through the initial phase of the Executive Director’s leave.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to Ray for coming out of retirement temporarily and leading our organization over the past four months. His 35+ years of experience in the social sector, along with his dedication to our local nonprofit sector by serving on several boards of directors, has benefited our United Way tremendously throughout our busiest time of year. We wish him well as he enjoys his well-deserved retirement once again,” said Gerard McDonald, United Way Centraide SDG Board Chair.

The Board has shared that the current Director of Marketing and Communications will be taking his place as Interim Executive Director to lead the organization for the coming months.

“We are confident that Stephanie brings the experience, knowledge, and understanding of our United Way’s current strategic plan needed to keep moving our work forward,” said Gerard.

With over 14 years of experience in marketing, communications, and fundraising, Stephanie brings a strong foundation to the role. During her five years as the Marketing and Communications Lead at United Way Centraide SDG, she has helped shape the organization’s communications, marketing, and signature fundraising events, including the Holiday Gala and Over The Edge. Her passion for the community and familiarity with the organization will help ensure a steady and seamless transition.

The United Way Centraide SDG Board of Directors looks forward to working with Stephanie in this new role to continue building strong, inclusive, and resilient communities across Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry, Cornwall, and Akwesasne.
