The United Way Centraide of Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Board of Directors are pleased to announce that Angie Baker will be the Community Campaign Chair for the upcoming 2018-2019 Campaign.
Born and raised in Cornwall, Angie has deep roots in our community. Her love of the community started from the very beginning with her love and dedication for children. Having three children Angie was a stay at home mom, with her own daycare, volunteering on parent council and church groups started her journey in giving back.
Her career in the media led to her involvement in countless community fundraising events and being a member of several Board of Directors. She has spearheaded crucial fundraising initiatives for many local charities. Some of these charities include; Children’s Treatment Centre where she was the chair of the Children Treatment Centre Auction, a key player in the conception of the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation Radiothon, and a founding committee member and chair of the United Way Holiday Wine and Gourmet Tastings Event. All of these endeavours, helped to raise thousands of dollars for people in our community…
“I have been affiliated with the United Way Centraide of S.D.& G in some form or another for over 25 years. I truly believe in the work the United Way Centraide of S.D.& G funded agencies do in our community and am honoured to have been chosen as the years’ United Way Centraide of S.D.&G Campaign Chair,” said Angie Baker.
“Angie utilizes her work and personal life to help raise awareness and be a champion for our community’s needs. Her passion is unwavering. Some have said that “She is small – but mighty.” Because of these efforts, Angie has earned the respect and gratitude of those whom and with whom she serves, her church family, her neighbours and her peers. The United Way Centraide of S.D.&G are so happy to have her as our Campaign Chair.” said Andrew Donihee, United Way Centraide of S.D.& G President. She is a United Way HERO!
