NEW POSITION: United Way Operations & Fundraising Coordinator

The United Way of Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry is governed by a local Board of Directors, who, with other volunteers and staff, help to build caring communities and respond to a broad range of human needs. It provides direct financial support to agencies, programs and services within the three counties. The United Way of S.D. &G creates a common ground where labour, business, community leaders and government come to the table to identify needs and solve problems.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the United Way Operations & Fundraising Coordinator ensures that the Organization’s mission, values, goals and objectives are met. As the United Way Operations & Fundraising Coordinator you will be accountable for the effective day-to-day operations of the local United Way Office, Workplace Campaign management and other fundraising responsibilities such as preparing grant submissions and funding proposals. Other areas of responsibility will include; organization for the United Way Annual General meeting, providing reports to United Way Canada as required and other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

Shared duties with the Campaign, Communications & Special Events Coordinator to include; actively support and participate in United Way Signature Events, third party and awareness events. Assist in planning and managing workplace campaigns and Yearly Community Campaign. Work closely with the Campaign, Communications & Special Events Coordinator to; implement current five-year strategic plan, coordinate marketing, communications and public relations, help recruit and oversee volunteers.

As the ideal candidate for this position, you have:  a Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Business Management, proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications and Accounting Software, previous office management experience, leadership skills, ability to connect with people and foster strong relationships, excellent communication, superior public relations and strong presentation skills, superior tact and diplomacy, fundraising experience and a strong understanding of the fundamentals of large fundraising campaigns and a valid driver’s permit and access to a reliable automobile.

In addition to the above requirements, must be prepared to work extra hours and flexible hours (evenings and weekends based on need i.e.; special events, etc.), as required, in order to meet deliverables.
